With his curly moustache and Grey tunic trimmed with gold, this fireman Nutcracker is ready to save the day.  He stands 38 cm tall (about 15 inches) and is ready for action with his hatchet at his side.  This Dandy Grey Fireman Nutcracker was made in the Erzgebirge region of Germany, in the village of Seiffen where the wooden nutcracker was first created.  This Nutcracker was made by the Fuchtner family, and it was Wilhelm Friedrich Fuchtner that is credited with first creating the wooden nutcracker, back in 1870.  As far back as 1786, Gotthelf Friedrich Fuchtner was selling wooden figurines at the Dresdener Striezel Market to supplement his family's carpenter business.   Volker Fuchtner is the 6th generation of Fuchtner's running this Nutcracker family business.  Dandy Grey Fireman Nutcracker is a true collectible that has a history and a beauty that will last for generations to come... and he really can crack nuts!  No signature is on this Dandy Grey Fireman Nutcracker.
