Using a gouge by hand to create fine detail, or with a lathe to get shapes formed, this Whittler German Incense Smoker is both a woodworker and a craftsman.  Note his unusual hair and beard, shaved from the head when it was being shaped.   Stands over 7 inches tall, and was handcrafted in Seiffen Germany, in one of the woodshops in the Erzgebirge Mountain regions town.
