Dressed in his Blue tunic, but with colorful contrasting pumpkin britches, this Blue and Pumpkin German Nutcracker stands a proud 36 cm (just about 14 1/4 inches) and was handcrafted in Seiffen, in the woodshops nestled in the Erzgebirge Mountain region of Germany, where the wooden nutcracker was first created! This King in Blue and Pumpkin Nutcracker was made by the Fuchtner family, and it was Wilhelm Friedrich Fuchtner that is credited with first creating the wooden nutcracker, back in 1870. As far back as 1786, Gotthelf Friedrich Fuchtner was selling wooden figurines at the Dresdener Striezel Market to supplement his family's carpenter business. King in Blue and Pumpkin Nutcracker is signed by Volker Fuchtner, the head of the family Nutcracker business (and Volker Fuchtner is the 6th generation of Fuchtner's running this Nutcracker family business). A true collectible that has a history and a beauty that will last for generations to come... and he really can crack nuts!
