Infantry Red Gold Helmet German Nutcracker. This German Nutcracker dressed in the Reds that were commissioned to their battalions, this Infantry in Red with Gold Helmet Nutcracker is ready with shining helmut (with spear point on top) for action. He stands 41 cm tall (over 16 inches) and was made in the Erzgebirge region of Germany in the village of Seiffen where the wooden nutcracker was first created. This Nutcracker was made by the Fuchtner family and it was Wilhelm Friedrich Fuchtner that is credited with first creating the wooden nutcracker back in 1870. As far back as 1786 Gotthelf Friedrich Fuchtner was selling wooden figurines at the Dresdener Striezel Market to supplement his family’s carpenter business. Infantry in Red with Gold Helmet Nutcracker is signed by Volker Fuchtner the head of the family Nutcracker business (and Volker Fuchtner is the 6th generation of Fuchtner’s running this Nutcracker family business). A true collectible that has a history and a beauty that will last for generations to come.
