German Infantry Nutcracker in Grey. This Kurasier is ready for action with his speared helmut and rifle held at regulation marching stance. Standing a proud 41 cm tall (over 16 inches) this German Infantry Nutcracker in Grey was handcrafted in woodshops in the Erzgebirge region of Germany where the wooden nutcracker was first created. This Nutcracker was made by the Fuchtner family and it was Wilhelm Friedrich Fuchtner that is credited with first creating the wooden nutcracker back in 1870. As far back as 1786 Gotthelf Friedrich Fuchtner was selling wooden figurines at the Dresdener Striezel Market to supplement his family’s carpenter business. Infantry Nutcracker in Grey is signed by Volker Fuchtner the head of the family Nutcracker business (and Volker Fuchtner is the 6th generation of Fuchtner’s running this Nutcracker family business). A true collectible that has a history and a beauty that will last for generations to come.
