Highlights of color on the figurines are offset by the stained fencing surrounding the four levels (with three rotating tiers) on this Angels Protecting Us Christmas German Pyramid. The lower level has an angel protecting the Holy family at the birth of the Holy Messiah, and leading the shepherds and sheep to worship there. On the second rotating tier there are wisemen bearing gifts, and Mary, carrying Jesus, and Joseph leading the donkey being led by the angel in robe and crown. With spears and shields drawn, the soldiers are rotating on the third level, and at the top are the stationary trumpeting angels. Angels Protecting Us Pyramid stands almost 18 inches tall, and has two levels of candles for better illumination of the story, a total of 6 medium candles are needed to turn the tiers. Made in the Erzgebirge Mountain region of Germany, in the village of Seiffen. Handmade by the Dregeno Cooperative Woodcarvers.
