A very highly decorated King is here before you, resplendent in his blue tunic with many decorations and details - obviously not just his everyday tunic! This Bavarian King in Blue German Nutcracker stands about 36 cm tall (over 14 inches), and was made in the Erzgebirge Mountains where the wooden nutcracker was first made, in the village of Seiffen Germany. This Bavarian King in Blue Nutcracker was made by the Fuchtner family, and it was Wilhelm Friedrich Fuchtner that is credited with first creating the wooden nutcracker, back in 1870. As far back as 1786, Gotthelf Friedrich Fuchtner was selling wooden figurines at the Dresdener Striezel Market to supplement his family's carpenter business. Bavarian King in Blue Nutcracker is signed by Volker Fuchtner, the head of the family Nutcracker business (and Volker Fuchtner is the 6th generation of Fuchtner's running this Nutcracker family business). A true collectible that has a history and a beauty that will last for generations to come... and he really can crack nuts!
